Ever since I hit my teen years, I started suffering from acne. I actually had them bad then. I hated them and it made me feel so uncomfortable and less confident. I envied those with flawless skin.
I remember, every time I woke up with a massive one on my face, I’d quickly find a way to rid of it. Just to point out, I never popped any of them. Never, ever pop any of your pimples people! It will forever leave scars and holes! I would instead put some anti-blemish cream on them and just hope for the best.
I was always hoping for the day when all my pimples would just go away and I will never, ever see another one. However, to this present day, I still get them. Not as bad as in the past, but I still have them. I feel like they will never go away and will be there forever. I’ve learnt to deal with it and not let a day go by with me feeling insecure with that pimple.
So what do I do when I’m breaking out?
I make sure I wash my face thoroughly in the morning and before bed with a good facial wash that suits my skin. I then further wipe down my face with a facial balancing toner to remove any excess dirt that was missed and then I put an anti-blemish cream over the big pimples. I finish off with some facial cream.
Also, I normally don’t wear make-up on a daily basis but on the days that I have to wear make-up (for work) and I’m breaking out, I notice that it makes it worse. So, I try to avoid it and keep it simple with just a BB cream or facial cream.
You might have a complete different routine for dealing with break-outs and that’s fine! Different things work for different people as we all have different types of skin. (Feel free to share in the comments below how you deal with break-outs. I’d love to know! 🙂 )
Always remember, that spot on your face will never define your beauty. Your beauty goes far beyond that. That spot is only temporary but your beauty is infinite. A lot of us suffer from this and therefore it is not odd to get them. We all have to deal with them at some point. Even those who have flawless skin get the odd pimple in their lives. Don’t worry you’re not alone in this journey! Keep confident and have that head of yours held high. You are beautiful!
